Here at Posh Goblin, we do things slightly differently than your average brand. As a small business, it means a few of our pieces are Made to Order.
Made to Order means exactly what you think it does: You place your order and then we start to make it for you.
This mainly applies to our rings as they need to be made in your size. The first step is to size up the wax model and then send it for casting – this is the process to turn it from wax to metal. Once your piece is cast it is then sent back to us, where is it hand finished in our workshop & sent for Hallmarking.
Hallmarking is basically the marking of precious metals in order to show it has been tested and verified by the Assay Office. Solid Gold & Silver, over a certain weight, legally must be Hallmarked in order to be sold in the UK. So once your piece is finished it is then sent to the Birmingham Assay Office to be marked with our maker's mark, the mark for BAO, which is an anchor, and the metal number (Sterling Silver = 925, 9ct Gold = 375, etc.)
Once your order is returned to us it is then packaged up and sent out to you. This isn’t a super quick process so we ask that you are patient and allow for up to a MAX of 5 weeks for your piece to be made. This enables us to limit waste & commit to ‘Slow Jewellery'.
I'm sure we're all aware of the term 'Fast Fashion' and this applies to jewellery as well. Posh Goblin jewellery is not trend-led and is meant to be treasured for a lifetime. Made in Recycled precious metals, it is always produced to our highest standard.
To make it easy for you there is a Ready to Ship page on our site & all our pieces that are Made to Order will be stated in the product description.
